I much appreciated the hospitality of The Ladies. I was only sorry we were a late second in the ring. Several good hounds in the top classes were tired or bored by the time their turn to sparkle came.

1st HALL Mr D & Mrs A Chuilinn Landis – what a happy puppy. For his age, he had lots of substance. A nicely chunky, gangly youngster who moved soundly. Pleasing head and expression, small ears, good mouth, nice feet. He and his handler were enjoying the occasion. I thought him full of potential, and shall watch for his future progress.

1st SCHULTZ Ms P Kilbourne Kassidy – out of puppy by a day! Big rangy dog standing over plenty of ground and needs time to grow into himself. Nice masculine head, plenty of bone and good feet. Perfectly sound moving, and should settle with practice.

1st: 9763 PEACH Mr & Mrs G & M Rubeus Hagrid To Kilbourne NAF – Dog CC and BOB. Well presented, medium sized young male. Coming in Limit, I did not realise he was still a junior. I loved him! What a handsome chap, charming head and expression, good body, and nice bend of stifle. I would prefer a stronger topline, and his feet are not his fortune but he is still so young and has lots of potential. He moved beautifully - easy, active and true, a sheer joy to watch. I am usually critical of judges who award CCs to young hounds, but I couldn’t help myself. Obviously others have felt the same, as on awarding him the CC I was told this win would make him a Champion.
2nd: 9756 LEWIS Mr A & Mrs V Luckhurst Nairn – different type altogether and lacked the length of (1). Well presented, and balanced mature hound. Attractive head and expression, nice eye and pigment, good topline, well bodied and plenty of bone. Moved well, but wasn’t going to catch (1).
3rd: 9747 GRIMSHAW Mr & Mrs G J & J A Greyflax The Jazz Singer To Jamalison

1st: 9764 PEACH Mr & Mrs G & M Lux Ch Multi DK Ch Finrod Von Averlon Taf – Reserve Dog CC winner. Lovely to see some low-set hocks. A mature, balanced hound who moved well but without much enthusiasm. Nice head and expression, good body, topline and tail carriage.
2nd: 9738 FAIRCLOTH Mr & Mrs J Beardswood Ripley for Calbraidh – built on generous proportions, he stands over plenty of ground. Kindly head and expression, and lovely deep chest. Inclined to a sloping topline when standing, but moved out well and was very well presented. His coat was in good order, and refreshingly he hadn’t been over trimmed.
MPB (5) Abs: 3
1st: 9739 FAIRCLOTH Mr & Mrs J Chuilinn Lyriel at Calbraidh – very attractive, shapely and well covered young lady. She carried herself well, and has good feet, enough substance and good tail carriage. She moved nicely and behaved impeccably. On the day she was my Best Puppy.

1st: 9783 TAYLOR Mrs S J Minerva Mcgonagall Of Ormanstar – Reserve Bitch CC. Lovely, feminine bitch well presented, balanced, moving so well. Nice head and expression, good front, good topline, good feet, plenty of bone, good quarters and tail. I thought her very nice. I was surprised to find she is the sister of my BOB, as there did not appear to be any similarities - but obviously there was something I liked about both of them.
2nd: 9765 PEACH Mr & Mrs G & M Blixten Star To Kilbourne (Imp) – another good bitch but not giving of her best on the move. Sound, genuine and a very nice type of hound. Nice head and expression, good front, depth of body, nice quarters and good coat.

2nd: 9770 PLAYFORD Mrs B Regalflight Promise – heavier type of hound, very sound and true on the move. Nice bitch overall, with everything looking good. Her handler seemed a bit bemused by proceedings, but I am sure she will live up to her name as she has lots of promise.
3rd: 9757 LEWIS Mr A & Mrs V Luckhurst Olgrin
LB (10) Abs: 4
1st: 9785 TRESH Ms K Lyndorthwin Ethel Grey – Bitch CC. Well presented attractive, feminine bitch, lovely head and expression. Nicely balanced with good length of body and depth, good feet and plenty of substance. Stands over plenty of ground and moved very soundly. Didn’t raise her game when asked to challenge for BOB, and I guess she was getting bored. I was very happy to award her the Bitch CC.
2nd: 9766 PEACH Mr & Mrs G & M Kilbourne Zoe – different type altogether, big, strong and rangy bitch with lots of substance. Nice head and expression, with a good body and nice topline.
3rd: 9733 BOND Mrs J Regalflight Racer – I liked this bitch, but by the final placing her handler was unable to cajole her into any more showing.
OB (8) Abs: 4
1st: 9779 SHANNON Mrs E Erewhon Wanton Flame – attractive head and expression, and nicely presented feminine bitch. Balanced overall with a good body, good feet, nice bend of stifle and good tail. Carrying a bit of weight for me, but she moved so freely and well. Disappointed on the challenge – she wasn’t in the mood to find that little extra.
2nd: 9753 HELPS Dr S Beardswood Quintessence – another nice bitch moving freely. Well presented, good front and topline, good body and tail and good feet. Would prefer a darker eye.
3rd: 9737 CONSTANTINE Mrs K Gentiehun Adelaide Of Kaleginy Sh.CM

1st: 9776 SAMWAYS Ms C Cassacre Aelgyth – I liked the style of this 7 year old – she strode round the ring, and was going to enjoy her moment of glory. It was good to see her moving so well at the end of a long day. In good condition, and well presented. A nice type of hound, loved her shape. Feet and teeth in good order. Best Veteran.
2nd: 9792 WILSON Mrs C Hamiltonhill One Vision – at 8 years old was giving away age, size and substance. Nice head and expression, moved nicely and with drive.
